EVANSTON, Ill. -- In its first stride into the 2015 postseason, No. 30 Northwestern enters the Big Ten Tournament this weekend as the No. 4 seed. The tournament, hosted by Illinois, opens on Thursday and will end with the championship match on Sunday.

The highly-seeded `Cats enjoyed a bye today and will play 5th-seeded No. 44 Indiana in the quarterfinals on Friday at 10 a.m. The Hoosiers defeated 12th-seeded Purdue 4-2 in the first round earlier today.

The Wildcats beat then No. 27 Indiana 4-3 on the road during the regular season.

Northwestern finished the regular season 19-8 overall and 8-3 against conference opponents. Ranked No. 30 in the nation this week, NU wrapped on the road last weekend with a 6-1 victory over Wisconsin and a tough 4-3 loss to then No. 33 Minnesota.
