Get to Know Strong Kirchheimer
Describe briefly your recruiting process/how you ended playing here at Northwestern:
I grew up loving Northwestern athletics because both my parents went to school here. So when I started the recruiting process Northwestern was already at the top of my list, and then when Arvid [head coach Arvid Swan] and Kling [assistant coach Chris Klingemann] told me the level they were trying to take the program to, it was a done deal.
What advice will you give to kids wanting to play your sport in college?
I'd say to start the recruiting process as early as possible and don't be hesitant when contacting a school.
What is the greatest lesson in life that you have learned so far?
The necessity of staying level through highs and lows.
Describe a humbling experience in your life:
I broke my wrist at the beginning of this past summer and had to pull out of about 4 tournaments I had been signed up for.
Favorite class at Northwesterns and why:
Acting 143: Basic Acting Techniques. I enjoyed it because it was after practice and it took me out of my comfort zone.
