ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Sam Shropshire won two singles matches on Saturday to propel him into the quarterfinals of the ITA Midwest Regional.
In the second round of singles, the sophomore defeated DePaul's Sten Leusink 6-3, 6-4. He followed this with a tight 7-6 (5), 7-5 victory over Ohio State's Kevin Metka in the third.
Fedor Baev and Alex Pasareanu also captured victories in their consolation matches, which were played after the main draw was completd.
Shropshire takes on OSU's Mikael Torpegaard tomorrow morning.
