Ryan Jarema has been a member of the Northwestern University Sports Medicine Department since 2020. He is responsible for managing the health care of Northwestern Football as well as coordination of rehabilitation services. He directs integration of sports science devices into the high-performance football staff as well as assists in the mentorship of athletic training and physical therapy students.
Jarema is a graduate of Marquette University and Northwestern University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in athletic training and a doctorate degree in physical therapy, respectively. He also completed Duke University Health Systems Department of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy Division I Sports Physical Therapist Fellowship, working mainly with the Blue Devils Football, Men’s Basketball, and Men’s Lacrosse teams. Jarema also previously worked at Athletico Physical Therapy and with the Chicago Lions Rugby Club. He also performed season long internships with the Milwaukee Brewers and the Philadelphia Flyers.
Jarema has presented at the Combined Sections Meetings on force deck and 1080 sprint integration into post-operative rehabilitation and had authored journal articles on return to play testing following post-operative ACL-R as well as dry needling.
Jarema resides in Evanston with his fiancé, Colleen, and is an avid golfer in his spare time.
