Paul Kennedy joined Northwestern University as the Assistant Athletic Director for Communications in July of 2012 and is responsible for overseeing the department's strategic communications, media relations, public relations, broadcast and new media initiatives.
Kennedy joined the Wildcats after three seasons with the National Hockey League's Chicago Blackhawks. He was part of a team that earned the 2011 Dick Dillman Award as the best media relations department in the NHL's Western Conference, and managed media and public relations during the organization's historic run to the 2010 Stanley Cup Championship.
Prior to his arrival in Chicago Kennedy served as the Director of Media & Public Relations for the Fresno Grizzlies, Triple-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, and held the same title with the Birmingham Barons, Double-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox.
The Massachusetts native earned a degree in economics from The George Washington University and resides in Chicago.
