Katie Prchlik joined the Northwestern Athletic Department in August of 2022 as the Director of Marketing and Fan Engagement.
In her role, Prchlik oversees marketing and fan experience efforts for women’s basketball, softball and men's and women's swimming and diving. Additionally, she is responsible for running and overseeing the Intern Program, department emails and the digital marketing efforts for the department.
Prchlik came to Northwestern from Nebraska where she served as the Assistant Director of Marketing and Fan Experience. In her role, Prchlik oversaw marketing and fan engagement efforts for women’s basketball, softball and men's and women's tennis. Additionally, she was responsible for running and overseeing the Iron N, Intern Program, student initiatives, student emails and the Nebraska Kids Club.
Prior to her time at Nebraska, Prchlik was at Utah State, where she served as the lead marketing contact for women’s basketball, cross country, track and field, men’s and women’s tennis, soccer and golf. She also was the court lead for men’s basketball and on-field lead for football, and oversaw the intern program and kids club. For the programs where she was the lead marketing contact, Prchlik was responsible for the program's social media accounts.
Katie's career started at McNeese State from 2015-16. She assisted in developing and implementing marketing initiatives for all McNeese sports programs throughout the academic year. She was responsible for community outreach efforts through the McNeese Kids Club and Rowdy’s Readers programs, worked daily in ticketing and served as the main production coordinator for football home games.
Prchlik has been very involved with professional development throughout her career. She has served on various NACMA committees since joining in 2015 and was recently accepted into the Mid-Managers co-hort. Katie is the founder of #YPSportsChat, a weekly twitter chat dedicated to young professionals working in sports that she started in 2016. She's attended the NCAA Emerging Leaders seminar in 2016 & 2017. In 2017 she was awared the Front Office Sports Rising 25 award.
Katie graduated from the University of Michigan 2015 with a bachelors degree in communication studies and history. She is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communications degree with specialization in Integrated Media Communications at Nebraska.
