Kathryn Dillin joined Northwestern Athletics in July 2018 as Assistant Director of Marketing. She serves as the marketing manager for men’s and women’s soccer, women's basketball, women's tennis, and softball. She is also involved in the department's email marketing efforts, annual Movie Night at Ryan Field, and manages the marketing internship program as well as Wildcat Alley, Northwestern Football's gameday fan fest area.
Dillin has coordinated efforts for key home events including the 2018 Big Ten Men's Soccer Tournament First Round, the 2019 WNIT First Round and Quarterfinals, the 2019 NCAA Softball Evanston Regional, and the 2020 Big Ten Women's Basketball regular season Championship. She is a member of the National Association of Collegiate Marketing Administrators (NACMA), and is currently in her second year on the NACMA Research Committee in addition to serving as a NACMA 'Best Of' Awards Judge in 2020-21. She also serves on the 2021-22 Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) Communication Advisory Group within the athletics department and as the 2021-22 Big Ten marketing representative.
Prior to her time at Northwestern, Dillin served as a graduate assistant for marketing with Auburn Athletics (2016-18) where she oversaw women’s volleyball, equestrian, track and field, softball, the birthday parties program, Auburn Ignited student rewards, and the nation’s first all-inclusive pets club within intercollegiate athletics, Paws & Claws. Dillin’s work with Paws & Claws earned the Tigers a 2018 Gold NACMA 'Best Of' Award and her overall efforts contributed to Auburn’s top-three finish for 2018 NACMA Marketing Team of the Year. She also oversaw marketing and fan experience for the 2017 SEC Equestrian Championship, in addition to contributing to efforts for the 2017 NCAA Softball Auburn Regional and Auburn Equestrian's fifth national championship celebration at Toomer's Corner in 2018.
Prior to her time at Auburn, Dillin spent one year (2015-16) with the University of Minnesota Athletics as marketing coordinator. She oversaw women’s soccer, women's rowing, women’s ice hockey, men’s gymnastics, and baseball. While at Minnesota, she kick-started the baseball program’s first Pups at the Park event and first multi-sellout season at the new Siebert Field. She also helped the women’s ice hockey program achieve its highest regular season average attendance among Division I programs for its third-straight year. In addition, Dillin led gameday production for NCAA volleyball, Big Ten Tournament women’s soccer, WCHA women’s ice hockey, and NCAA women’s ice hockey.
Dillin attended Wake Forest University (2011-15) where she served as an undergraduate intern with Wake Forest Sports Marketing. During her two-year internship, she helped heavily with the Skip Prosser Literacy Program, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's tennis, and the track and field program. She also interned with the Atlantic Coast Conference (2014-15), spearheading championship promotions for men’s and women’s soccer, football, and men’s and women’s basketball.
Dillin graduated from Wake Forest University in 2015 with a bachelor of arts in communications and Latin American and Latino studies. She later graduated with a master’s degree in higher education administration and sport management from Auburn University in 2018. Dillin is a native of Hendersonville, North Carolina.
