Eric Kissel joined Northwestern Athletics in December 2018 as the Assistant Director of Facilities and Operations. He is responsible for day-to-day maintenance and operation of athletic facilities on the Central St. Campus, including Ryan Field, Welsh-Ryan Arena, Rocky and Berenice Miller Park, and Trienens Performance Center. Kissel also assists with facility construction projects, most notably Trienens Performance Center.
Kissel came to Evanston after a two-and-a-half-year stint as Coordinator of Facilities and Event Management at Marquette University. During his time with the Golden Eagles, he served as game administrator for volleyball, women’s basketball, and men’s and women’s lacrosse, in addition to game management duties for all other MU athletic contests. Other responsibilities included scheduling of facilities for all athletic programs, camp and clinic oversight, special event coordination, and vehicle fleet management.
Kissel also spent time at West Virginia University as the Athletic Facilities and Game Operations Assistant. He served as game administrator for men’s soccer, swimming & diving, track & field, and wrestling in addition to game management for all other WVU contests.
Currently, Kissel serves as the President of Collegiate Athletic Operations Services (CAOS). In 2017, he was a recipient of the Collegiate Event and Facility Management Association (CEFMA) Professional Development Grant.
Kissel received his bachelor of science degree in Sport Management from Slippery Rock University and his master of science degree in Sport Management from West Virginia University. He resides in Chicago.
