Candynce Boney joined Northwestern Athletics as an Academic Advisor in January 2017. She works closely with student-athletes from baseball, football, wrestling, women’s fencing and field hockey. She holds weekly meetings with the first years to guide them to a successful academic career, and helps track progress towards graduation.
Prior to Northwestern, Boney was an Assistant Academic Counselor at the University of Michigan from August 2015 to December 2016. Her previous work experience includes an internship as an academic advisor at the University of Massachusetts in 2014-15. She also spent three years at James Madison University as the women’s tennis assistant coach from August 2011 to July 2014.
Boney attended the University of Massachusetts where she was a four- year letter winner in women’s tennis. She graduated in May 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy. She obtained a master’s degree in Sport Leadership from James Madison in May 2014.
Boney is a native of Las Vegas, Nevada and is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
