Brendan Boucaud begins his first season with the Northwestern Univeristy men's soccer program in 2025. Boucaud, a native of St. Ann's, Trinidad & Tobago, will serve as the Director of Soccer Operations.
Boucaud joins the 'Cats after a three-year stay at the Director of Coaching at FC Central Illinois, where he was also the head coach of the 2010 Boy Pre-Academy side. While with the club, Boucaud, who also spent a season as a volunteer assistant coach with the women's soccer program at Illinois State University in 2020, designed a curriculum to foster and enhance development across all levels. He also created a coaching education plan to develop and retain staff.
Prior to his arrival in the Land of Lincoln, Boucaud spent three seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Dayton, where he aided in the development of nine All-Atlantic 10 (A-10) Conference honorees. Following back-to-back nine-win showings in his first two seasons with the Flyers, Dayton put together an impressive 2019 campaign, finishing 13-8-0 overall, a mark the included a 6-2-0 ledger in Atlantic 10 Conference play. Three Flyers took home specialty awards, with Jonas Fjeldberg being named the league's Offensive Player of the Year, while Kingsford Adjei and Toluwalase Oladeinbo were tabbed Midfielder of the Year and Rookie of the Year, respectively.
Boucaud began his coaching career at his alma mater, Central Methodist Univeristy, where he served as a graduate assistant coach for two seasons. He played a role in two of the best seasons in program history, as the Eagles combined to win 25 games across the 2015 and 2016 campaigns.
During his playing career, Boucaud was a multiple time All-Heart of American Athletic Conference (HAAC) selection at Central Methodist, captaining the team in both 2012 and 2013. Boucaud also competed at the University of New Mexico and the Illinois Institute of Technology, qualifying the NCAA Tournament in 2009 with the Lobos.
Boucaud earned his bachelor's degree in Sports Management from Central Methodist in 2013 before obtaining a master's degree in Education & Sport Management from the school in 2017. He currently holds a "C" License from the United States Soccer Federation.
