Ben Wood joined Northwestern as the assistant director for facilities and operations in January 2021. He is responsible for day-to-day facility oversight of Welsh-Ryan Arena, Miller Park, and Trienens Performance Center.
Prior to joining Northwestern, Wood served as athletic operations manager at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. There he managed daily, event, and logistical operations for the Charles E. Smith Center, Barcroft Park, and George Washington’s Mount Vernon Campus. His other experiences include DC Fray, Monumental Sports, and Old Dominion University.
Wood graduated from Temple University in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in sport and recreation management. As an undergraduate, he worked for Temple’s athletic department as an event and operations intern and as an operations intern for Comcast Spectacor.
Originally from Glenn Dale, Maryland, Wood currently lives in Chicago.
