Austin Rhyne joined Northwestern Athletics in 2021 as a Program Assistant for the Academic Services and Student Development, Compliance, and Kabiller NU for Life teams. He is responsible for the daily operations and administration needs of the third floor suite in the Walter Athletics Center and serves as the point of contact between advisors and students, coaches, and recruits on campus. He manages the execution of Student Development programming; content creation and engagement for the department’s social accounts; compliance and eligibility reporting; and oversees several steps in the recruitment process including applications and campus tours.
Rhyne began his journey with the Wildcat family in 2020 developing and coordinating Risk Management sites for both the Evanston and NU-Chicago campuses. He has previously worked for The Walt Disney Company in Orlando, Florida and with Adventures by Disney across western Europe. He has developed trip itineraries for ExperiencePlus! Cycling Tours in Faenza, Italy, managed data and digital communications for Southlake Psychiatry in Davidson, North Carolina, and spent two semesters circumnavigating the globe with Semester at Sea.
A native of North Carolina and a graduate of The University of Alabama, Rhyne carries a deep love for self-discovery among global connections. This has led him to his current role in higher education, hoping to help support and develop Northwestern student-athletes into world citizens who can utilize their voices and roles to make an impact.
