Alexa K Bannerman has been a member of the Northwestern University Sports Medicine Department since 2014. She is responsible for managing the health care of the football team. Administrative responsibilities include management of NU institutional, Big 10, and NCAA drug testing.
Alexa is a graduate of the University of Central Florida where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training. As a graduate assistant at Troy University, she worked with the women’s basketball, women’s soccer, and cheer teams.
Alexa is interested in increasing her exposure to various soft tissue techniques and applying them to rehabilitation. She is also interested in advancing her knowledge and understanding of anaerobic training, periodization models, and Olympic/power lifts for the football athlete
Alexa and her husband Daniel reside in Wilmette, IL. Alexa enjoys lifting, beach days, outdoor activities, attending sporting events, and spending time with Daniel. They love visiting their families as often as possible in Michigan, North Carolina and Florida.
