Alex Hurlburt is in his second season as Northwestern's technical coordinator.
Hurlburt joined the Wildcat program from the Loyola (Chicago) men's volleyball program, where he spent the 2017 season as the Ramblers' volunteer assistant coach.
"We're thrilled to add Alex to the Wildcat family," said head coach Shane Davis. "He has a tremendous passion for the game of volleyball and will add an analytical approach to our program that will have a tremendous impact."
Prior to coaching for Loyola, Hurlburt was an assistant coach with the Glenbard West High School's boys' team, which won the 2017 IHSA title.
Hurlburt has also spent time as the associate head coach for the Future Select National Skills Program in Vernon Hills, Illinois. He was also previously the boys' varsity head coach at Plainfield Central High School.
