- Four-time varsity letter winner in football and three-time team captain
- Scored 18 touchdowns in two years as starting running back
- Earned four varsity letters in track and field and three-time track and field captain
- State Champion in the 100m and 200m dashes as a junior
- Father, Butch Newhouse, played fullback at Northwestern
- Chose Northwestern over Kentucky and the United States Naval Academy
- Plans to major in economics along with learning and organizational change
