WASHINGTON, D.C. — Northwestern senior attacker Madison Taylor has been named a Tewaaraton Award finalist for the third year in a row, the Tewaaraton Foundation announced on Tuesday evening.
Taylor is the first three-time finalist for the award since two-time Tewaaraton Award winner Izzy Scane (2021, 2023, 2024). The Wildcats have fielded at least one Tewaaraton Award finalist in each of the past four seasons.
After shattering the NCAA single season scoring record with 109 goals in 2025, Taylor has retained her elite form in 2026. She leads the Big Ten in goals (80) and points (111) and has added 16 ground balls, 15 caused turnovers and 46 draw controls. She ranks second nationally in goals and third in points.
Taylor is the first player in NCAA history to record career marks of 450+ points and 200+ draw controls.
The Wantagh, N.Y., native has helped power the 'Cats to four consecutive conference regular season and tournament title sweeps. She leads all active players in career goals (325) and points (455) and is 28 points behind Scane's program record of 483.
One of the nation's most consistent performers, Taylor has tallied at least one point in 64 consecutive games. She has started all 83 games NU has played since she arrived on campus as a first-year ahead of the 2023 season.
The first-ever WLL College Draft No. 1 overall selection, Taylor has helped guide Northwestern to three consecutive national championship game appearances, which includes a win in the 2023 game over Boston College. Taylor would be the fifth Wildcat to win the Tewaaraton Award, joining Kristen Kjellman, Hannah Nielsen, Shannon Smith and Scane.
The award's winner will be announced live at the Tewaaraton Ceremony on May 28 in Washington, D.C.
