Freeman Named Big Ten Player of the Week

EVANSTON, Ill. – Junior OF Jackson Freeman has been named Big Ten Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.

Over three games at Rice, Freeman posted a Big Ten-best 1.417 SLG, going 8-for-12 (.667 AVG) with one walk (.692 OBP) three homers, five RBI, seven runs and 17 total bases on the weekend.

In Friday's season opener, Freeman posted his first multi-homer game of the season and second of his career, going 3-for-4 with two homers, two RBI and three runs scored.

In Sunday's 17-6 run-rule victory, the Ladera Ranch, Calif. native went 4-for-4 with a home run and a walk, scoring four runs and driving in three.

NU's 17 runs in Sunday's victory are its most in a game since defeating Ohio State 17-2 on May 11, 2025, and its 25 runs in the series are its most in a season-opening series since 2008.

Freeman is the first Wildcat to be named Big Ten Player of the Week since Ryan Kucherak on May 12, 2025.
