EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern women's soccer is headed to the NCAA Tournament for the eighth time in program history and sixth under head coach Michael Moynihan.

The Wildcats (9-4-7, 4-2-5 Big Ten) will travel to No. 8-seed Alabama on Friday, Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. CT on ESPN+.

Northwestern closed the regular season with a 2-3-4 record against RPI Top 50 opposition, earning a result against four ranked opponents (most since 2022).

The Wildcats tallied 10 clean sheets this season, their most in a season since 2022. First-year goalkeeper Nyamma Nelson's 10 clean sheets broke the program's first-year shutout record and rank fourth-most in program history.

Four Wildcats earned All-Big Ten honors this season, NU's most honorees since 2023. Sophomore forward Kennedy Roesch earned First Team All-Big Ten honors, senior defender Brooke Miller and senior midfielder Caterina Regazzoni were named to the conference's Second Team, and first-year midfielder Keira Kemmerley was named to the All-Freshman Team.

Roesch's nine goals in 2025 rank second-most in the Big Ten and are the most by a Wildcat since Ella Hase tallied 10 goals in 2023.

The winner of Friday's First Round matchup will advance to the Second Round, where it will face the winner of No. 1-seed Stanford and Cal Poly.
