EVANSTON, Ill. (September 11, 2025) – In announcement made by the Big Ten Conference Thursday afternoon, Northwestern first-year Arianna Lau has been named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week. The award marks the first weekly conference honor in Lau's career.
Lau made her collegiate debut this past week at the ANNIKA Intercollegiate in Lake Elmo, Minnesota. After 54-holes, Lau was the Wildcat's leading finisher in a tie for fifth place, coming in under par across all three rounds.
Making her debut round, Lau fired a one-under-par 71 in the opener for the 'Cats, before carding four birdies for a two-under 70 in her second round. Lau would card another 71 in her final round to finish the event at four-under-par with a score of 212 strokes (71-70-71).A Debut Week to Remember ??

The Wildcats placed in a share of fourth in their season opener, finishing the ANNIKA Intercollegiate with a team score of 862 (287-293-282) to come in at two-under-par.
Next up for Northwestern is the Jackson T. Stephen's Cup, September 15-17, joining some of the top collegiate programs in the country at Shoreacres in Lake Bluff, Ill.
