Northwestern to Host FOX's Big Noon Kickoff on Lakefill this Saturday

EVANSTON, Ill. FOX's Big Noon Kickoff pregame show will come to Northwestern for the first time in program history, setting up on Northwestern's iconic Lakefill ahead of the Wildcats' matchup vs. No. 4 Oregon at Northwestern Medicine Field at Martin Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 13.

The game will air on FOX at 11 am CT. Gus Johnson (play-by-play) and Joel Klatt (analyst) will be on the call, joined by Jenny Taft on the sidelines.

Big Noon Kickoff is FOX's college pregame show, featuring analysis and predictions. Traveling to different collegiate campuses each week. Host Rob Stone is joined by college football legends, including 2009 Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram II, 2004 Heisman Trophy winner Matt Leinart, Urban Meyer, Brady Quinn and Chris "Bear" Fallica.

"This is why you play in the Big Ten," Dan and Susan Jones Family Head Football Coach David Braun said on Monday when asked about 'Big Noon' coming to Evanston. "'Big Noon Kickoff' coming to campus. The students are back. We need Wildside at a whole 'nother level. The lakefront needs to be packed with purple. We need to create a home field advantage. It may be a smaller venue, but it can still be an incredible advantage for the Cats."



The show's pregame tailgate will begin at 8:00 am CT, followed by the show going live beginning at 9:00 am CT. Admission to the pregame show is free for all fans.

Activities for fans will consist of:
  • Student ticket raffle for first-years
  • Live DJ on-site
  • Trucker hat giveaway
  • Free breakfast (Guzman y Gomez Breakfast Burritos)
  • Free sandwiches (Jersey Mike's Subs)
  • Photobooth and sign-making stations (the fan with the best sign will win $500).
  • Game watch party along the Lakefill for fans without a ticket to the game

The game marks the conference opener for both the Wildcats and the reigning Big Ten champion Ducks. This marks just the second time in program history the two programs have faced off, with the previous matchup coming on Oct. 5, 1974 at Ryan Field in what marked a 14-10 Northwestern victory. 


Wildcat fans are encouraged to wear purple for the marquee matchup. Single game tickets for the game are sold out, with limited season ticket packages still available.
