Women's Tennis Hosts Quad Invite Ahead of Dual Season

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern women's tennis will welcome Colorado, Northern Illinois and Notre Dame to Combe Tennis Center this weekend for an invitational tournament ahead of their 2025 dual season.

The 'Cats will match up with each visiting team once over the weekend, and Combe will also host neutral site matchups between the remaining teams. All scheduled matches will feature individual singles and doubles results only, with no team scores, as the participating programs tune up before their non-conference seasons.

For Northwestern, they'll look to build on a successful fall tournament season that saw one doubles duo fall just shy of NCAA Tournament qualification. Mika Dagan Fruchtman and Britany Lau put together a 7-5 record together in October and November, reaching the semifinals at both the ITA Midwest Regional and the ITA Central Sectional.

Dagan Fructman is one of four Wildcats set to make her Combe competition debut this weekend, joined by fellow first years Erica Jessel and Maia Loureiro as well as sophomore transfer Katya Shepherd Johnson. All four saw action this fall, with Loureiro putting together a team-best 9-2 record in singles action.

All matches this weekend will be streamed on PlaySight, and results will be available online following each day's action. A full weekend schedule can be found below.

Following the conclusion of tournament action, the 'Cats will officially open dual season next weekend at home, when they host Butler for a non-conference matchup at Combe Tennis Center. First serve between the Wildcats and the Bulldogs on Saturday, Jan. 18, is scheduled for 4 p.m. CT.
