Kiley Rabjohns Named Big Ten Player of the Week

EVANSTON, Ill. - After a 6-1 weekend at the Michigan State Classic, Kiley Rabjohns was named Big Ten Player of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday. It is the first time the senior has earned the honor.

Rabjohns impressed in individual action, amassing a 3-0 record over the weekend in East Lansing. She dropped just one set in three days of singles play, downing Michigan State's Amara Brahmbhatt 6-2, 6-4 on Friday and Xavier's Natalie Smitek 6-3, 6-3 on Saturday. She rounded out a perfect weekend of singles with a 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 victory over Michigan's Emily Sartz-Lunde on Sunday.

In doubles play, Rabjohns went 3-1 alongside partner Erica Jessel. The duo opened the weekend with a 6-4 victory over Xavier on Friday, then added two more wins on Saturday - 6-2 over another Xavier duo,and 6-3 over Michigan's Sheinin and Bruno. Rabjohns lone loss at Michigan State came at the hands of a pair from the host school, who came away with a 6-3 victory on Sunday.

Rabjohns is the first Northwestern player to earn conference Player of the Week since Maria Shusharina on April 17. Additionally, Rabjohns is the first-ever Wildcat to earn the award in the fall, after the Big Ten expanded weekly tennis honors to include fall play in 2024.
