Wildcats Record Second Consecutive Clean Sheet in 1-0 Victory over Toledo

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern recorded its second consecutive clean sheet, a 1-0 win on Sunday at Northwestern Medicine Field at Martin Stadium.

The Wildcats held Toledo without a shot on goal in the contest, its first time holding an opponent without a shot on goal since defeating Oakland 7-0 on August 24, 2023.

How it Happened
The first half saw Northwestern control most of the run of play, outshooting the Rockets 6-2 in the first 45 minutes.

After earning a corner kick the 55th minute, Josie Aulicino's service found Emma Phillips, who headed the ball across the face of the goal toward Caterina Regazzoni, who headed it home for the game's only goal.

Northwestern earned 11 corner kicks in the contest, its most since earning 12 on August 27 at Toledo last season.

Game Notes
  • Josie Aulicino recorded her 29th career assist, two shy of Kristen Palmer (1995-99) for most in school history.
  • Caterina Regazzoni notched her second goal of the season and eighth of her career.
  • NU has not allowed a goal in 126:30 of game action. 
  • Northwestern improves to 2-0 all-time against the Rockets.
