The Lake Show Earns No. 1 National Seed in NCAA Tournament

EVANSTON, Ill. – The Wildcats have earned their second consecutive No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament and have received a bye to the second round. The 'Cats will welcome Denver (15-3, 5-0 BIG EAST) and Stanford (13-4, 7-0 Pac-12) to Evanston.

The Lake Show will face the winner of Denver and Stanford on Sunday, May 12 in the second round inside Martin Stadium. The First Round contest between the Pioneers and Cardinal will be hosted in Evanston and will take place on Friday, May 10th. 

The First and Second Rounds of the NCAA Tournament will be streamed on ESPN+. Game information will be announced later this week.

Northwestern (15-2, 5-1 B1G) has won 43 straight home games since 2020 and claimed both the Big Ten Conference regular season and tournament titles this season for the third time in the last four seasons.

The Wildcats are making their 25th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and 20th under head coach Kelly Amonte Hiller. In each of the last four NCAA Tournaments (2019, 2021, 2022, 2023), NU reached the national semifinals and won all seven of its home games. Amonte-Hiller holds a career NCAA Tournament record of 53-11 (.828).
