Wildcats Topple No. 10 Denver, Notch Fifth Consecutive Victory

Evanston, Ill. – The top ranked Wildcats showcased their dominance on Friday night with a 14-10 triumph over the No. 10 Denver Pioneers, securing their fifth consecutive win of the season at home.The Wildcats were led by standout performances from Madison Taylor, who scored 5 goals alongside 1 assist, Izzy Scane with 4 goals on 12 shots, and Lindsey Frank contributing 2 goals and 1 assist. Samantha Smith led with 7 draw controls, while Molly Laliberty made 12 saves for the Wildcats.

Game Recap: Scane kicked off the scoring spree, marking her 23rd goal of the season with a free position shot just three minutes into the game. Locked in a defensive battle, the 'Cats ended the first quarter leading 2-0 off of free position goals. Second quarter tested the Wildcats as Denver rallied, outscoring Northwestern 4-3.

With a slim halftime lead of 5-4, Northwestern had already outshot Denver 17-13. The third quarter saw a turnaround as the Wildcats dominated, outscoring Denver 4-3. Both Scane and Taylor secured hat tricks in the second half, while Northwestern maintained their lead in shots, outshooting their opponents 34-27, and controlled the draw battle with a 17-11 advantage.
