'Cats Drop ITA Kickoff Final to No. 15 Harvard

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Northwestern fell to No. 15 Harvard 4-0 on Sunday in the second round of the ITA Kickoff.

The Crimson got off to a strong start by picking up the doubles point; the team was led by the No. 5 ranked pairing of Cooper Williams and Daniel Milavsky. Chad Miller and Jackson Caldwell had their first set go to a close 4-5, but were unable to fight for the win as the match went unfinished.

Harvard was able to continue its momentum during the singles portion of the match, picking up three singles points to win out. Gleb Blekher closely battled Williams, No. 15 in the country in Men's Singles, but lost his first set by a narrow margin of 4-6. The match almost went to a third set, but unfortunately there wasn't an opportunity for Blekher to try and snatch the win. Chad Miller and Greyson Casey's singles matches also went unfinished.

The 'Cats will look to bounce back at home on Friday versus Oregon, starting at 6 p.m. CT.
