BOCA RATON, Fla. - Northwestern Women's Tennis is set to open the 2024 dual season on the road Monday with a morning match-up against Florida Atlantic in Boca Raton, Fla. First serve is set for 10 a.m. CT.
Led by five-time Big Ten Conference Coach of the Year Claire Pollard, Northwestern finished 12-13 last dual season, including 7-4 in Big Ten play. The 'Cats then opened their 2023-24 slate with five tournaments this fall, providing all four of Pollard's newcomers their debuts in purple.
After a successful fall, the most recent ITA rankings listed Christina Hand at No. 105 in singles and the pair of Hand and Justine Leong at No. 39 in doubles. The duo made it to the quarterfinals in the ITA National Fall Women's Championship and the semifinals of the ITA Midwest Regional Championships this October.
The Wildcats will continue the 2024 season at home next weekend with a doubleheader against Butler and Eastern Michigan on Sunday at the Combe Tennis Center. First serve against Butler will be at 10 a.m and the Eastern Michigan match is set to start at 4 p.m.
