Northwestern Men’s Golf Inks Mark Gazi

EVANSTON, Ill. (November 9, 2023) – Northwestern University head men's golf coach David Inglis announced the singing of Mark Gazi (Tralee, Ireland/CBS The Green Tralee) to a National Letter of Intent on Thursday.  Gazi will join the 'Cats at the start of the 2024-25 academic year.
 
"We are delighted to welcome Mark to Northwestern next fall," Inglis commented.  "In recruiting Mark, it was evident that he is driven to work hard, has a strong ambition to be a great player, and be part of a team that wins championships at Northwestern.  We can't wait for him to join us next fall."

High School/Club: Attended CBS The Green Tralee in Tralee, County Kerry, Ireland … Played golf during every year of secondary school … Was the lowest handicapper on his team … Spent two seasons on the Irish U18 squad after stays on the U16, U15, and U14 teams … Represented Ireland at the 2023 European Boys Championships in Switzerland … Member of the Irish team that was victorious at the 2023 Home Internationals … Captured the McGregor Trophy in 2022 at the Sherwood Forest Club, winning in a six-hole playoff … Played for Tralee Golf Club … Named Junior Captain for 2024 … Member of squad that advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2022 All-Ireland Barton Shield …  Won Munster West Barton Shield in 2022 … Two-time Junior Golfer of the Year … Also competed on the swim team during secondary school … Recipient of the Academic Excellence Award … Son of Roman Gazi and Marketa Valisova.
