UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - No. 1 Northwestern field hockey (14-1, 6-0 B1G) has tied their program record with 14 straight wins after besting No. 16 Penn State (7-7, 2-4 B1G) 2-0 on Friday in University Park.

Led by goalie Annabel Skubisz, who tallied a season-high eight saves in the game, the Northwestern defense held an opponent scoreless for the sixth straight game. That ties the program record for consecutive shutouts, matching the 1982 and 1988 teams. Skubisz and the Wildcats have allowed just seven goals in 15 games, good for an NCAA-best 0.47 goals-against-average, and have shut out opponents a program-record 11 times through 15 games. With eight saves and no goals allowed in Friday's game, Skubisz improved her save percentage to an impressive .860.

On the other side of the field, Lauren Wadas handled all the offense for Northwestern, scoring both Wildcat goals on penalty corners. The senior has now scored in four straight games for the 'Cats, dating back to their matchup with Michigan on October 1, and has five goals on the season.
