Northwestern Races past Weber State behind Norkett's Brace

EVANSTON, Ill. -- Megan Norkett's brace fueled Northwestern to a 4-1 victory against Weber State on Thursday at home at Lanny and Sharon Martin Stadium.

The win improved Northwestern's record to 5-0-2 overall, it's first unbeaten start through seven games since 2018 (6-0-1).

How it Happened

Northwestern grabbed a 1-0 lead in the 26th minute when Norkett beat her defender and fired a left-footed shot past the WSU goalkeeper, her second goal of the season.

NU tacked on another goal when Ella Hase found Norkett at the top of the box in the 27th minute. Norkett again fired a left-footed shot past the WSU goalkeeper, this time for her third goal of the season.

Weber State got on the board to make it a 2-1 match on Alaina Wildenradt's 48th-minute goal, assisted by Emery Jacobs.

Northwestern grabbed a 3-1 lead with a 57th-minute cross found Emma Phillips, who headed it home for her third goal of the season. Meg Boade and Hayley Newman assisted the goal.

Northwestern stretched its lead to 4-1 when Meg Boade weaved through multiple WSU defenders to find Ella Hase for her fifth goal of the season in the 86th minute.
