EVANSTON, Ill. (July 11, 2023) – Northwestern University wrestling learned of its Big Ten Conference opponents for the 2023-24 season following the release of the league's opponent rotation by the conference office on Tuesday. Head coach Matt Storniolo's team will host four Big Ten Conference foes inside Welsh-Ryan Arena.
The home slate features matchups against two of the league's top three finishers from a year ago in Iowa and Nebraska, with Indiana and Purdue also slated to visit Evanston.
A trip downstate to battle rival Illinois highlights a road slate that also includes matchups against Maryland, Minnesota, and Wisconsin.
Set to begin his ninth season with the Wildcats, Storniolo is expected to welcome back a quartet of NCAA qualifiers from a team that finished 7-3 overall and posted a 5-3 record in Big Ten Conference action, the program's first winning conference campaign since the 2017-18 season.
