ROSEMONT, Ill. – Miriam Guevara and DJ Huff have been selected as recipients of the 2023 Big Ten Postgraduate Scholarships, the conference announced Thursday.
Miriam Guevara orchestrated a record-breaking career in her five years at Northwestern. She holds the Wildcats' best-ever times in the 100 and 200 fly, records she broke and reset multiple times, and is also a part of the program's record-setting 400 medley relay team. Guevara earned All-American recognition 12 times in her career, capping her final season in Evanston with national honorable mentions in the 100 fly, 200 fly and 400 medley relay. An All-Big Ten Second Team honoree in 2021, she secured a place on the podium eight times at conference championships as a Wildcat.
Out of the pool, Guevara was named an Academic All-Big recipient in each of the last four seasons. She is pursuing her Master's in Public Policy.
DJ Huff was recently selected as the Northwestern Athletics' first Diversity and Inclusion Fellow, a position created in partnership with the Big Ten Conference.
