ROSEMONT, Ill. – For the final week of the regular season, Samantha White of the No. 1 Northwestern lacrosse team has been named Big Ten Conference Defensive Player of the Week.
White grabbed her second weekly award of the season by posting three caused turnovers, four draw controls and two ground balls in the Wildcats win over No. 12 Maryland that secured the outright Big Ten Regular Season Championship.
The sophomore spearheaded a defense that limited Maryland to six goals, its lowest output since 2020.
By virtue of its regular season title, Northwestern received a bye to the Big Ten Tournament semifinals and will play either Penn State or Michigan on May 4 in Columbus, Ohio at a time to be determined. The game will air on BTN.
