Nebraska Bests Northwestern 9-2 in Game Two

LINCOLN, Neb. -- Senior Evan Minarovic went 2-for-4 with a double for the Northwestern Wildcats in a 9-2 loss to the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Saturday.

Michael Farinelli (1-6) started and took the loss on the mound for Northwestern (5-24, 3-5 B1G). Ethan Sund was a bright spot out of the bullpen, going one perfect inning with a strikeout.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Both teams logged a quick first inning before the Huskers jumped out in front in the second inning. Nebraska used three doubles and a home run to put up a nine-spot on the 'Cats in the frame.

The score stuck at 9-0 through all of the middle innings before the Wildcats first put runs on the board in the eighth. A sacrifice fly from Owen McElfatrick and a wild pitch plated two for the 'Cats. That's where the score would stay for the balance of the game, giving the Huskers their second straigh victory over Northwestern.
