EVANSTON, Ill. — Madison Taylor found two goals, two assists and three draw controls against Penn State to earn her seventh Big Ten Freshman of the Week award.
Taylor is the first player to win seven Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors since Izzy Scane won seven straight in 2019. Scane went on to win Big Ten Freshman of the Year. If Taylor wins the weekly award for an eighth time, she will set the record for most Big Ten Freshman of the Week awards in recent memory.
The Wantagh N.Y. native is the only first year to have started every game this season and has scored at least a point in every match. She only failed to find the net against Stony Brook but was still able to notch an assist.
Taylor is third on the team in goals with 30. She has scored a career high five goals in two contests this season, in her debut against Syracuse and most recently against Stanford.
The first-year is also a force on the draw circle and is second on the team with 36 draws. She picked up a career high eight against Marquette.
Taylor will be back in action this weekend, starting with a match up against Rutgers on Thursday at 6 p.m. CT on the Big Ten Network.
