Northwestern Drops Opener to Louisiana Tech

RUSTON, LA -- Owen McElfatrick collected three extra base hits, but the Northwestern Wildcats fell to the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs 14-5 on Friday.

Michael Farinelli (0-3) started and took the loss on the mound for Northwestern (0-7).

McElfatrick's three extra base hits were the highlight of a 3-for-5 day, and included two doubles, a home run and two RBI. The Wildcats pushed across two runs in the frame, the big hit being an RBI double from Owen McElfatrick, tightening the Louisiana Tech lead to 14-5.
