EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern fencing will travel to Philadelphia for its first collegiate event of the season on Saturday, Oct. 29, at the 42nd annual Temple Open. The event will be streamed on YouTube.
An individual collegiate invitational, the event will include competitors from Boston College, Columbia, Long Island, New York, Penn State, Temple, Penn, and North Carolina among others.
Wildcats competing in foil will take the strip first, beginning competition at 7 a.m. CT with epee to follow at 8:30 a.m. CT. Sabre concludes the day beginning at 11:30 a.m. CT.
The format for the event features two rounds of pools followed by direct elimination bouts.
Next up for Northwestern is the Western Invitational on Nov.5-6 in Colorado Springs, Colo.
