No. 8 Northwestern Shuts Out llinois 4-0

CHAMPAIGN, -- Northwestern got a pair of goals from Josie Aulicino in a 4-0 shutout triumph over in-state rival Illinois Sunday on the road at Demirjian Park.

The victory improved Northwestern's record to 10-1-2 overall and 4-0-1 in Big Ten action.

How it Happened

Northwestern opened the scoring when Rowan Lapi notched her third goal of the season and second from the penalty spot in the 33rd minute.

The Wildcats extended their lead to 2-0 on a goal from Danika Austin in the 57th minute.

Northwestern made it a 3-0 lead on Aulicino's 66th-minute goal, her sixth of the season. Lily Gilbertson assisted the goal.

The Wildcats went ahead 4-0 with a 72nd-minute goal from Aulicino, her seventh goal of the season.. The goal capped the scoring in the game.
