Wildcats Score 3 Unanswered to Down NIU 3-1

DEKALB, Ill. –– Northwestern fought back from a 1-0 deficit to beat NIU 3-1 Wednesday on a rainy and windy evening at NIU Soccer and Track & Field Complex.

The win brought NU's record to 2-6-4 overall and extended the Wildcats' unbeaten streak to three games.

How it Happened

NIU broke the 0-0 deadlock when Camilo Estrada scored in the 53nd minute, assisted by Kevin Galiano.

The Wildcats equalized on a free kick from Ethan Dudley -- his third goal of the season -- in the 64th minute.

Northwestern then took a 2-1 lead on Bardia Kimiavi's 73rd-minute goal, his first of the season. Rom Brown assisted the goal.

The 'Cats extended their lead to 3-1 when Eric Smits found Jason Gajadhar in the 83rd minute for Gajadhar's second goal of the season. 

The 3-1 scoreline held until the final whistle.
