EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern got goals from Rowan Lapi and Aurea del Carmen in a 2-0 shutout win against No. 19 Xavier on Sunday (Sept. 4) at home at Lanny and Sharon Martin Stadium. The Wildcats improved to 4-1-1 on the season, and recorded their first win over a ranked opponent this year.

How it Happened

Northwestern grabbed a 1-0 lead when Lapi notched her first goal of the season in the fourth minute, assisted by Josie Aulicino.

The Wildcats increased their lead to 2-0 on a goal from Del Carmen -- her second goal of the season -- in the 12th minute, assisted by Aulicino and Emma Phillips. The goal finished off the scoring in the match.
