Northwestern Knocks Off DePaul, 3-1, With Second Half Outburst

CHICAGO, Ill. – Northwestern fought back from a 1-0 deficit to take down DePaul, 3-1, on Thursday (Sept. 1) in a Crosstown Showdown at Wish Field at Cacciatore Stadium.

Northwestern improved to 3-1-1 overall on the season with the win.

How it Happened

DePaul grabbed a 1-0 lead when Freya Jupp scored in the third minute.

The Wildcats responded to tie things up on a goal from Aurea Del Carmen -- her first goal of the season -- in the 49th minute, assisted by Caterina Regazzoni.

Northwestern then broke the 1-1 draw on Emma Phillips' 76th-minute goal, her second of the season.

The Wildcats went ahead 3-1 with an 87th-minute goal from Josie Aulicino, her third goal of the season. Rowan Lapi assisted the goal. Neither team scored again in the game.
