The postseason is here and at this point of the season, all eyes are facing forward to what is to come. We closed the chapter on the regular season hungry for more but proud of all that took place in the fifty previous games. Now it is simply us against the world.
To have the well-earned privilege of hosting Regionals is an honor for us. It allows us to take the people of Evanston and our community on this ride with us a little bit longer. Our team has worked for everything we have received, and earning our seed in the tournament is a prime example of that. We are confident in where we are and the opportunity that lies ahead of us.
This time of year the game feels extra special because you can't take a pitch or a swing for granted. Each game is the most important game of the year until you advance to the next one. Our sole focus is taking this post season one game and one pitch at a time. We as a team and as a program believe we have something special to offer the game, now we can go out and deliver by simply being us.
The stakes are higher but at the end of the day, it is the same game that we all love. We are not going to let any moment feel too big because we know we are prepared for any situation. This was our goal all year, to start our postseason run at The J. The road to the WCWS begins in Evanston this weekend and to all of our families and friends thank you for joining us on this journey, but this is just the beginning.
