'Cats Drop Finale in College Park

College Park, MD - Northwestern dropped the finale of their weekend series against #23 Maryland 10-5 on Sunday afternoon.

A day after handing the Terrapins just their second home defeat of the season, Northwestern once again got the bats going late. After falling behind 3-1, the 'Cats pulled within one thanks to an Andrew Pinkston RBI double and tied the game when Stephen Hrustich drew a bases-loaded walk.

That set the stage for Vincent Bianchina to come up in the clutch once again, driving home a run with a fielder's choice in the top of the seventh. Maryland would rally in the bottom half of the inning and put the game away with a late offensive surge.

Grant Comstock was solid in another Sunday start, allowing two run in 4.1 innings of work and striking out one.
