Evanston, IL - Northwestern fell just short in the series finale of a weeked set with Ohio State on Sunday afternoon, losing 6-5 to in front of a packed house at Rocky & Berenice Miller Park.

The 'Cats kicked off the scoring right away with an RBI groundout in the first inning from designated hitter Stephen Hrustich

In the sixth inning, down 4-1, the Wildcats loaded the bases with no outs, eventually scoring three runs to tie the game. They would then tack on another run in the seventh to give them the lead on an RBI single by third baseman Tommy D'Alise

First-Year infielder Patrick Herrera collected two hits, with a double, an RBI, and a walk. The Wildcats had a total of 10 walks on the day.

Starting pitcher Grant Comstock had a another solid start, getting one out into the fifth before handing the ball off to junior Jack Sauser. After 3.1 innings from Sauser, junior Reed Smith came in and finished the game.

The 'Cats look to get back in the win column heading north for a mid-week battle against Milwaukee, with a 6:00 P.M. first pitch on Tuesday afternoon.
