NU Drops Saturday Doubleheader to Bearcats

Cincinnati, OH - Northwestern lost a heartbreaker in the opening game of Saturday's doubleheader at Cincinnati, as the Bearcats hit a walk-off home run to defeat the Wildcats 4-2, before Northwestern lost the nightcap 16-5.

Stephen Hrustich drew Northwestern level with his second home run of the series on Saturday, lifting a solo shot over the scoreboard in right center field to get the Wildcats on the board. The junior hit .333 in the series with four RBIs.

Michael Farinelli got the start for the Wildcats on Saturday afternoon, tossing 6.1 innings in the seven-inning affair. The Middlebury transfer struck out five for Northwestern.

In the nightcap, Ethan O'Donnell's towering home run was the highlight for the Wildcats, as the sophomore continued his strong season after hitting .500 against the Santa Clara.
