RALEIGH, N.C. – Northwestern fell 4-2 to Wake Forest in the opening match of the ITA Kickoff Weekend in Raleigh on Saturday afternoon.
Senior Clarissa Hand picked up a statement win with a 6-7, 6-7 (3), 6-2 victory over No. 35 Carolyn Campana at No. 1 singles.
Maria Shusharina also battled back from a set down for an impressive 6-7 (3), 6-0, 6-3 win over Samantha Martinelli at No. 3.
