'Cats Fall to No. 12 Terps on the Road

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Northwestern fell to No. 12 Maryland, 87-59, at the Xfinity Center in College Park on Sunday afternoon. 

Northwestern moved to 11-7 on the season and 3-4 in Big Ten play. 

Upperclasswomen Lauryn Satterwhite, Veronica Burton and Courtney Shaw all had nine points each. Shaw finished with 10 rebounds, including six on the offensive glass. Burton added six assists and six rebounds. 

Sophomore Anna Morris added six points off the bench, while junior Laya Hartman continued her solid play of late with eight points and two made threes in her second straight start. 

First year Hailey Weaver mad her first career three off the bench in the fourth quarter. 

The Wildcats return to action later this week with two matchups at Welsh-Ryan Arena. The 'Cats host Iowa on Friday, Jan. 28 at 7 p.m. CT and then welcome Illinois on Sunday, Jan. 30 for a 2 p.m. CT tip-off.
