Louisville is 2-1 to start the season with wins over Dayton and Bellarmine and a 4-0 defeat to No. 11 Kentucky. The Cardinals finished 9-12 and 3-8 in the ACC last season.
Northwestern last met Louisville in 2020 before the season was canceled due to COVID-19, and the 'Cats secured a 4-1 win with singles victories from Steven Forman and Simen Bratholm. Forman and Natan Spear also picked up a doubles win.
Four Cardinals that competed in that 2020 matchup are still on the roster, including Tin Chen, who was ranked No. 42 at the time.
