EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern hosts Penn State on Thursday for a conference battle in the Together We Win game. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on B1G+.
The Wildcats sit at 11-5 on the season and 3-2 in conference play after falling to Michigan State on Sunday.
First-year Caileigh Walsh recorded her eighth-career double-digit scoring game with 10 points, while junior Laya Hartman also contributed 10 points in 19 minutes.
This is the 50th meeting all-time between Penn State and Northwestern. The 'Cats are 4-0 against Penn State dating back to 2018-19.
Veronica Burton is putting together an outstanding season, leading the Wildcats at 17.4 point per game, while ranking third in the nation with 68 steals (4.25 per game). Burton also ranks second in the conference at 6.0 assists per game.
At 9.9 points per game, Caleigh Walsh is set to be the highest-scoring first-year for Northwestern since Lindsey Pulliam averaged 15.0 points per game in her rookie season (2017-18).
