EVANSTON, Ill. – Despite a first half goal from Vicente Castro, Northwestern was tripped up in the second half by No. 11 Indiana in a 2-1 defeat Tuesday night at Martin Stadium.

It was a fantastic atmosphere with over 1,000 in attendance. The Wildcats seized momentum early in a strong first half on a goal from the junior from Chile on a rapid strike in transition.

The assist went to Justin Weiss, who picked up his team best sixth point of the season.

The Hoosiers scored goals in the 46th and 51st minute on a long ball and a counterattack to take a lead. It was an uncharacteristic performaance from the Wildcat backline, who had done well to stifle the Hoosier attack throughout the rest of the night.

The Wildcats dropped to 2-4-2 on the season while the Hoosiers improved to 4-2-1.

Northwestern is back in action on Sunday in Big Ten play when it faces Michigan in Ann Arbor. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. CT and will be streamed on B1G+.
